In March 2023 outline planning permission was granted to Dandara Eastern Limited (“Dandara”) to build 160 new homes in the rural village of Little Dunmow. Included within the s106 conditions was the construction of a 100sqm office hub which was to be transferred to Little Dunmow Parish Council upon 75% occupancy of the new homes.

Informal discussions were held in the months that followed by members of the Parish Council, culminating in the decision to approach Dandara with a proposal to construct a larger building that would better serve the needs of local residents.

With this vision in mind, a small group of local residents explored the idea further and conducted detailed research before then engaging with Dandara.

After much positive feedback from a variety of key stakeholders and clear indications that this could all be made possible and Little Dunmow Community Buildings Trust became a registered charity on 18th June 2024.
